The No. 23 NC State men’s tennis team won its fourth straight match to start the season Friday at Northwestern, soundly beating the Wildcats 4-1.
Freshman Martin Rocens clinched the match for the Wolfpack with a 7-6, 6-1 win over Simon Bratholm.
In doubles, the pair of senior Alexis Galarneau and junior Robert Turzak, alongside junior Tadas Babelis and sophomore Yannai Barkai helped pick up the crucial doubles point to get NC State on the right track out of the gate.
The other singles match winners that clinched points for NC State were freshmen Robert Catry and Galarneau, who both won in straight sets.
The Wolfpack will be back in action on Jan. 20 in Charlottesville, Virginia with a match against Utah State in its first round matchup in the ITA Kickoff Weekend tournament.
