The No. 17 NC State men’s soccer team will travel to Farmville, Virginia this Tuesday to face Longwood University.
The Wolfpack (6-3-2, 1-3-1 ACC) has dropped two of its last four games and will be looking to get back on track to being a top-20 team in the nation against the Lancers.
The last time out for the Pack saw a great effort from sophomore goalkeeper Leon Krapf go to waste against Boston College. Despite his six saves, one shot from the Eagles got past him and that was all that was needed to give them a 1-0 victory over the Wolfpack.
Longwood (3-8) has struggled mightily this season, losing six of its last seven games. The Lancers have only managed three goals in their last four outings, while not making up for it on the defensive end by letting in 13.
The Wolfpack should be in good shape for this matchup as the Lancers are 1-4 in home games, while allowing more than two goals per game. The Wolfpack meanwhile is only allowing one goal per game and averages 1.27 goals a game for itself.
This is an important game for the Pack, as it’s the last matchup before taking on No. 3 UNC-Chapel Hill and No. 12 UNCW in back-to-back games.
The match against Longwood is set to begin Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Longwood Soccer Field.
