The NC State football team will play a 12th regular season game this year, as NC State Athletics announced Tuesday that the Wolfpack will host East Carolina on Dec. 1 at noon.
The game against ECU will make up for the lost West Virginia game, which was cancelled earlier in the season due to Hurricane Florence. The Pack will host the Pirates at Carter-Finley Stadium, unless either team qualifies for their respective conference championship game the same day.
“While we remain focused on ACC play, we’re glad to schedule this game should it be needed,” head coach Dave Doeren told NC State Athletics.
Season tickets and parking passes for the West Virginia game will be honored for the ECU game. Additionally, the game will serve to assist those impacted by Hurricane Florence.
In addition to the Dec. 1 game, NC State and ECU also announced that they have reached an extension to a series of games between the two teams. A 2025 game in Raleigh and a 2028 game in Greenville have been added, to go along with already scheduled games in 2019 in Raleigh and 2022 in Greenville.
