Multiple reports of a peeping Tom and attempted burglary have come to light in the past week, with several of the incidents involving reports of scratching at windows.
According to WRAL, on Friday evening officers responded to reports that an unknown individual attempted to open a door around 11:20 p.m. at a house on Clark Avenue. Nothing was taken.
Around 3 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to another report of attempted burglary on Clark Avenue. Residents reported that they heard scratching at their back door and someone attempting to get into the house.
The attempted burglary reports from the past weekend come after a string of alleged peeping Tom incidents reported in the past few months, which also involved scratching on windows. Police began receiving these reports back in August.
The first incident, according to Raleigh police, occurred at a home on Deep Hollow Drive on Aug. 6. A man was reported attempting to get into a bedroom window.
On Aug. 21, a man was spotted twice around a home on Jackson Street, located off Method Road. Residents of the Jackson Street home said they found a ladder against their house on one occasion. During the next incident, the residents reported that they heard scratching against the window and found a screen damaged.
Police reports have detailed three other incidents since August. Two women, reported to live in one of the houses identified in one of the three police reports, said that they saw a man tapping and scratching at their window as recently as last week. Police have not confirmed whether these seven incidents are connected.
The suspect of the alleged peeping Tom incidences is described to be around 5 feet 10 inches tall and in his mid-30s. He may drive a gray or silver SUV. Authorities have released a composite sketch.
