As the new voter registration deadline approaches, students are urged to find out how to vote, where to vote and learn more about the candidates they can vote for.
The voter registration deadline for new voters is Oct. 12. Students who are eligible to vote can complete a voter registration application. Organizations have also been encouraging students to register to vote in common areas such as Wolf Plaza, Talley Student Union and the Brickyard.
Early voting will begin in Talley Student Union on Oct. 17 through Nov. 3. One-stop voting at Talley allows students to register to vote and then vote all at once.
If a student is unable to register by the Oct. 12 deadline, they are still able to register and vote at the early voting site.

“I am running for U.S. Congress because I believe the people of North Carolina’s District 4 are not represented by David Price,” Von Loor said in a statement on his website. “For thirty years, the people of this district have been represented by a far-Left ideologue who does not believe in the values of District 4.”
David Price, Democratic Party:
Price, the incumbent, was born in Erwin, Tennessee and is 78 years old. Price received his undergraduate degree at UNC-Chapel Hill and later attended Yale University, where he earned a Ph.D. in political science.
Price served as a representative of North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District from 1987 to 1995, and was then re-elected to a new term beginning in 1997, where he has been serving since.
“I am filing for reelection to continue fighting for a more just and inclusive society and defend the values we share as Americans against an erratic and reckless President and a complacent Republican Congress,” Price said in a statement on his website.
Barbara Howe, Libertarian Party:
Born in Monroe, North Carolina and is 65 years old. Howe graduated from Pfeiffer College with a bachelor’s degree in English and psychology and joined the Libertarian Party in 1976.
“Washington grows larger and larger,” Howe said in a statement on her website. “Political discourse grows more and more caustic. Choices become less and less distinctive. At every turn, politicians are steering us in the wrong direction.”
The North Carolina general election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
