Lime Scooters will be coming to NC State this week, giving students the opportunity to ride the electric scooters on campus.
NC State Transportation will be receiving 100 electric Lime scooters (Lime-S) to pilot the program on campus. According to Yolanda Jones, communications manager for NC State Transportation, the department has been working with Lime to bring the scooters to campus for a few weeks.
The new Lime scooters will cost $1 to unlock and six cents per minute ridden. Jones said the scooters will arrive on campus Wednesday. The electric scooters on campus will be for NC State’s campus, and according to Jones, NC State does not promote Bird scooter.
Jones said she expects the Lime Scooters to be popular on campus, but students must follow the NC State Transportation Lime-S guidelines for riders, one of the most important ones being to wear a helmet.
