Head Chef Sakorn Buyam, also known as Pat, prepares a plate of sushi behind the sushi bar at recently reopened restaurant Sushi Nine on Saturday. Located off of Western Blvd., Sushi Nine is once again receiving customers in a new building after the original building burned down in 2016.
After burning down in 2016, Sushi Nine has reopened almost exactly two years later at its same Western Boulevard location.
In Jan. 2016 Sushi Nine was forced to close after suffering from a fire that destroyed nearly half of the building. Almost a year later on Jan. 15, 2017, owners of Sushi Nine announced plans to rebuild, which have been ongoing throughout the past year.
According to Lisa Fatfat, the owner of Sushi Nine, in previous interviews with Technician, the restaurant was originally intended to open mid-November of 2017. Fatfat also said the space will be bigger, but with the same menu that customers enjoyed that can be found on the restaurant’s website.
Sushi Nine’s hours of operation are Sunday through Wednesday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
