Former Missouri freshman guard Blake Harris has committed to the NC State men’s basketball team, per Jon Rothstein via Twitter on Wednesday.
Harris decided to transfer after just 14 games into his freshman year with the Tigers, averaging 13.9 minutes per game and 3.8 points per game. Harris quickly chose the Pack after announcing his decision to transfer on Jan. 6, and visiting NC State on Jan. 8.
Harris will be forced to sit out the rest of the this season and half of the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer regulations.
The Chapel Hill native originally committed to Washington, decommitted and then chose Missouri over NC State, Michigan State, Connecticut and Rutgers. Harris was the No. 99 prospect in 2017 recruiting class according to ESPN.
The 6-foot-3 guard returns home to his former stomping grounds of Raleigh where he played prep basketball for Word of God; he averaged 25 points and 9.9 assists per game at Word of God.
UPDATE: NC State has announced that junior forward Shaun Kirk has been granted a release and will transfer to UNC-Pembroke.
