Graduate linebacker Germaine Pratt comes from behind to get the tackle on Boston College running back Ben Glines. Pratt had a major day with 1.5 tackles for a loss, the sack, and a forced fumble that he recovered. NC State survived a late Boston College resurgence for a 28-23 win on Saturday, Oct. 6 in Carter-Finley Stadium.
A second NC State football player will skip the upcoming Gator Bowl. Graduate linebacker Germaine Pratt posted a photo on his Instagram account of himself signing with an NFL agent, meaning his college eligibility is done.
Pratt’s decision comes days after receiver Kelvin Harmon announced that he would turn pro and skip the game.
Pratt, who played safety in his first two seasons, finishes his NC State career with with 235 total tackles, six sacks, 17 tackles for loss, four interceptions, nine passes defended, three fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown.
Pratt finished his final season second in the ACC with 104 total tackles in 11 games to go with 10 tackles for loss and six sacks.
Pratt had been fighting an injury down the regular season’s final stretch. He did play the finale against East Carolina, but had to sit out at UNC-Chapel Hill the week before, and health likely played a factor in his decision to skip the game.
NC State will face Texas A&M in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl Dec. 31 in Jacksonville, Florida.
