Based around the idea of wildlife awareness, attendees of all ages were invited to get up close and personal with animals and participate in outdoor activities at a Wildlife Expo Saturday.
Organizers from the North Carolina Wildlife Commission utilized all facets of Centennial Campus during the event. Four outdoor zones were set up including one in a field off of Avent Ferry Rd. and one at Lake Raleigh.
Groups from around the state were represented. The N.C . Falconer’s Guild demonstrated the efficacy of birds of prey as they gave a hunting demonstration. Falcons were shown to be especially apt at hunting rabbits and mice from the sky.
Other demonstrations, such as how to fly-fish, enveloped the campus.
