The exhibit, “Life’s Little Dramas: Puppets, Proxies and Spirits,” showcased at D.H. Hill Library in February, received two 2016 Gold Awards of Excellence at its annual conference in Winston-Salem last week. The exhibit explored the history of puppetry and featured puppets from all over the world, including Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and the Czech Republic. The exhibit was commended for its design, educational value and professional practices. The Gregg Museum of Art and Design curated and organized the exhibit, but it was showcased in D.H. Hill due to the museum’s construction.
