The NC State Police Department sent a crime warning alerting the campus community of a sexual assault that was reported shortly after 11 Saturday night near the Memorial Bell Tower. According to the crime warning, the suspect approached a woman from behind and put his arm around her, placed his other hand in her pants and began to fondle her.

“The female was able to get away and the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. The suspect is described as a white male, 6 ft tall, wearing a grey sweatshirt and shorts,” according to the WolfAlert.

The crime alert also stated that no weapons were displayed, implied or used. Police are asking if anyone has any information about this incident, to contact the NC State University Police Department by calling 919-515-3000.
