The Wake County Health Department has confirmed in a press release that an individual infected with the measles virus visited the Lee Residence Hall between the hours of 8 p.m. and midnight on Monday, July 25.
NC State Health Services is working closely with the Wake County Health Department and the individuals that may have been exposed on campus, according to an email sent from Justine Hollingshead, chief of staff for the vice chancellor and dean of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs.
There is only one individual that has been confirmed to be infected with the disease in Wake County. The patient first showed symptoms of the virus after returning from travel overseas, according to the press release.
Individuals who have been vaccinated for measles as recommended are considered to be protected from the virus for life. The virus is highly contagious for individuals who have not been vaccinated.
People may have been exposed to measles at the following locations, dates and times:

RDU International Airport, 2- 4:30 p.m.
Hunter Street Park, 1250 Ambergate Station, Apex, 6-8 p.m.
July 25:
Cary YMCA, 101 YMCA Drive, Cary, 12:15–4 p.m.
NCSU Lee Residence Hall, 2500 Sullivan Drive, Raleigh, 8 p.m.-midnight
July 26:
UPS Store, 2054 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary, 2-4:30 p.m.
Coastal Credit Union, 2024 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary, 2-4:30 p.m.
July 31:
NextCare Urgent Care, 1110 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary, 1:50- 4:50 p.m.
WakeMed Cary Emergency Dept., 1900 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary, 3-9:30 p.m.
