With upcoming winter storms this week, the NCDOT is organizing work crews and equipment. A news conference was scheduled Wednesday about its plans to prepare the roads for the snowy conditions. When snowy conditions are predicted, the DOT pre-treats the roads and then puts out sand and salt once snow falls.
