During the winter storm weekend, a baby lemur was born at the Duke Lemur Center. The newborn lemur is the grandson of Zoboomafoo, the late lemur and star of the PBS children’s show of the same name. The baby lemur is son of a sifaka lemur named Gisela. The lemur was born during the storm on Saturday, and the staff stayed overnight at the center to care for the lemurs during the storm. As of Monday, the new lemur has not been named, according to a Duke spokesperson.
