Families and children assembled Saturday at the Raleigh Convention Center at the LEGO KidsFest. The LEGO Fest featured a LEGO Model Museum of characters from fiction. Also featured was a brick pile for children to dive in and put bricks together. Two LEGO Master Builders, Steve Gerling and Chris Steininger, were present to teach tools of the trade that they have learned through their years of building with LEGOs. Gerling and Steininger built most of the models displayed in the Model Museum. As visitors exited the LEGO Fest, they had the opportunity to build a section of the United States and have it placed on a 65 feet long by 45 feet wide. Visitors could view this visitor-made model from a balcony.
