Seven NC State athletes closed out the 2025 outdoor season at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon, with three earning first-team All-American honors.
Junior Grace Hartman capped off her stellar year with two first-team All-American finishes. After taking second in the women’s 10,000 meters with a time of 31:32.15 earlier in the meet, Hartman returned to finish fifth in the 5,000 meters at 15:35.39.
Former Wolfpack distance runner and 2022 NCAA 5,000-meter outdoor champion Katelyn Tuohy, calling the meet from the commentary booth, praised Hartman’s work ethic and talent, setting an even higher bar for her senior season in 2026.
Sophomore Angelina Napoleon delivered another podium performance in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the line in 9:16.66 to place third and claim first-team All-American honors one year after falling short of the final at the 2024 NCAA Championships.
In the field, sophomore Tyson Adams earned first-team All-American honors in the men’s long jump with a sixth-place mark of 7.81 meters, becoming the fourth long jumper in program history to earn All-American status. Adams earned the Wolfpack men’s team’s lone three points.
Senior Sam Bush also qualified for the women’s 5,000 meters alongside Hartman, finishing 20th in 16:01.47.
Senior Patrick Tuohy, Katelyn Tuohy’s younger brother, missed the 800-meter final by just three hundredths of a second, running 1:47.55.
Graduate Brett Gardner finished 15th in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase semifinals with a time of 8:38.13.
Freshman Mariama Hunt placed 23rd in the women’s long jump at 5.87 meters.
The Wolfpack women totaled 18 points to finish tied for 15th, while the men scored three points for a 58th-place finish.
As the NCAA season comes to a close, several Wolfpack athletes — including some from these championships — could return to Eugene later this summer for the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships, scheduled for July 31 to Aug. 3 at Hayward Field.
