NC State police responded to a fight between four East Carolina University and two NC State students just before 2 a.m. on Aug. 29, according to a WRAL report. First responders arrived at the scene after a report of an altercation near Brooks Avenue and Pillsbury Circle.
The fight broke out hours after NC State football defeated ECU in the season opener Thursday night, approximately three miles from Carter-Finley Stadium.
All parties were charged with misdemeanor affray. ECU students were trespassed from NC State property, prohibiting them from returning to campus for a period of time, NC State spokesperson Mick Kulikowski wrote.
WRAL reported seeing three ambulances and at least six NC State police vehicles near Nelson Hall and Governors Scott Courtyard after their breaking news team arrived at the scene around 2:45 a.m.
WRAL’s breaking news team captured a video of police talking to four people. One appeared to have a scraped elbow while holding an icepack to his head.
Kulikowski said that additional charges are possible as the investigation is ongoing.
