On Oct. 28 at 7 a.m., the top morning shows in both English and Spanish will unite to celebrate the launch of a new TV channel called Fusion.
Univision’s Despierta América and ABC’s Good Morning America will feature a simultaneous broadcast in honor of the channel.
Two hosts from Despierta América will join ABC’s Good Morning America team in New York, while two members from GMA will join the Despierta América team in Miami.
However, the new channel will not premiere until 6:57 p.m. The channel will feature a wide variety of topics, including news, comedy and various shows relating to pop culture.
Fusion is designed to cater to the generation of both Hispanics and other nationalities who have grown up in the United States, according to the Associated Press.
The goal of this channel is to reach the current United States demographic, which is commonly referred to as the millennials, and it represents the largest and most diverse generation in this country.
“It’s Historic for television, and it will be something never before seen in Spanish, English and Spanglish, ladies and gentlemen,” Raul Gonzalez, a host on Despierta América, said on the show Tuesday.
