Hillsborough Street will host the Live and Local festival on Saturday.
Live and Local organizers hope to encourage attendees to buy local by showcasing local business and performers. Of the 25 performers, only three are not from North Carolina and proceeds benefit the business improvement district of Hillsborough Street, The News & Observer reported.
The festival will host musical performances at 11 venues with main concert performances begin at 3 p.m.
Artists playing include Morning Brigade, Chuck Champion, Peak City Sound, I Was Totally Destroying It, and Barleycorn and Rye.
Live and Local will also feature a group fitness class called “Rock the Clock,” on Horne Street at 4:15 p.m.
There will be a satellite celebration beginning at 9 a.m. at Carter-Finley Stadium that will include a barbecue contest, a cornhole tournament, a fun zone for the Junior Wolfpack Club and a musical performance by Doug Clark’s Hot Nuts. The Kay Yow Spring Game will begin at 1 p.m., according to The N&O.
