About 30 University of Missouri football players have gone on strike, saying they will not play another game until University of Missouri System President Tim Wolfe steps down. The players said they were standing in solidarity with the Concerned Student 1950 movement, which has been calling on the university and Wolfe to address systemic racism on campus for months. The University of Missouri football team tweeted a photo of the student athletes linking arms with the caption, “We are no longer taking it. It’s time to fight.” Wolfe gave no indication he has any intention of stepping down but agreed in a statement Sunday that “change is needed” and said the university is working to draw up a plan by April 2016 that promotes diversity and tolerance.
