In a night full of emotion and difficult questions, Miss Colombia left with the biggest crown in Miss Universe 2015. This is the second time in the history of the Miss Universe competition that Colombia has won the crown, the first being in 1956.
Nia Sánchez of Nevada, the contestant representing the United States, took second place and represnts one of the few Latinas who have represented the US. Finishing out the top five were Miss Netherlands, Miss Ukraine, and Miss Jamaica, who provoked a great stir from those in the audience who thought that she deserved a higher place.
The question that Miss Colombia answered had to do with the contribution that Colombia had to offer the world, to which she answered, “Colombia has been an example to follow for the rest of the world.” She added, “We’re very perserverant. No mater what obstacle, we continue fighting for what we want to achieve. After many years of difficulty, we’re achieving leadership in different scenes at the world level.”
