After weeks of talk about where the North Carolina debate for the democratic presidential nomination would take place, the party announced this evening that candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama would square off at the RBC Center.
Clinton has already agreed to the debate, which is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, while the party is still waiting for an agreement from Obama, who had previously requested an April 19 debate.
Hosted by CBS’ Katie Couric, the debate will be nationally televised beginning at 8 p.m. and last for 90 minutes.
“As we all know, North Carolina has become a pivotal state in the Democratic primary,” Chancellor James Oblinger said in a statement. “We certainly think Raleigh and N.C. State University provide an appropriate setting for this important debate.”
