John Gilligan, vice chancellor for research and graduate studies, has resigned and will become special assistant to the dean of the College of Engineering June 1, according to Keith Nichols, director of news and communications for the University’s news services.
Terry Lomax, dean of the graduate school, will be the interim vice chancellor, and a national search for a new vice chancellor will take place, Nichols said.
Gilligan has worked at N.C. State since 1983 and has served as vice chancellor since 2002.
