Errors unacceptable
Your mistakes on the front page article of the first summer edition of Technician are simply inexcusable. I am referring to the fact that you don’t seem to know the name of the radio station that you share the third floor of Witherspoon with. Nor do you know how to spell last name of WKNC’s former general manger. The name of the radio station is WKNC 88.1 and the former general manager’s last name is not Mcrrury, it is McCreery. Even more pathetic is the fact that it was written by your news editor, Mr. Chris Allred, who should be preventing silly mistakes like these! I must say that you have started off the summer edition of Technician pathetically.
I understand that writing for a newspaper is very difficult — my brother wrote for the county newspaper in our hometown for a year — but it is mistakes like these that are truly hurting your budget. It’s not a problem with the economy; it’s a problem with readership. No one wants to advertise in a paper that people don’t want to read. If we the readers can’t depend on the paper to deliver us thoughtful, accurate articles then we don’t want to read it. Mr. Allred and Ms. Hindi, please put more time into editing your paper. We shouldn’t have to be the editors.
