Nearly one month after two suspects broke into the Bragaw C-Store, the Campus Cinema ticket office and the Vet School cafeteria, Campus Police have been unable to attain any information leading to an arrest, according to Capt. Jon Barnwell.
“We’ve had some leads that have now been investigated to their end,” Barnwell said. “We still haven’t located the suspects so we’re hoping for some more information that may lead to an arrest.”
Randy Lait, University Dining business officer, said the break-ins have prompted Dining to install burglar alarms at all dining location safes. “We are going to upgrade all our security systems at our dining locations to include burglar alarms in the areas where the safes are,” Lait said. “We are hopeful that the people that perpetrated this will be identified and justice will prevail.”
The two suspects, caught on camera, stole $1,600 from the Vet School safe but were unable to steal any money from the C-Store or ticket office. Barnwell said the University is still offering a reward of up to $1,000 if anyone gives information leading to the arrest of the two men.
“If anybody has any information about who the suspects may be, they should call Campus Police at 515-3000,” he said.
