Conference honors IrvingThe ACC announced Nate Irving, a redshirt sophomore on the football team, as its defensive back of the week on Monday. Irving, a native of Wallace, N.C. is leading the conference in tackles-per-game at 11.5 after the first two weeks of play. This season, Irving has posted 23 tackles, including 3.5 for loss, two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
Men’s golf takes second in tourneyThe men’s golf team competed in the Maryland Intercollegiate tournament this weekend, finishing second among 18 teams. Due to weather complications from Tropical Storm Hanna, tournament play was shortened to 36-holes, all played Sunday.As a team, the men finished at four-under par with a team score of 564. Sophomore Matt Hill finished fourth among individual competitors, finishing at five-under par. Senior Darren Blair finished seventh at three-under par and junior Brad Revell took 13th to help lead the Pack.
