Power was restored on campus tonight after a nearly two-hour power outage caused by a squirrel in a transformer.According to Capt. Jon Barnwell of Campus Police, a transformer blew at approximately 5:50 p.m., near the Sullivan Shops, taking power from areas between Pullen Road to Gorman Street.Power is out on both Central and North campuses, according to Officer Mike Mullens of Campus Police. Mullens said Progress Energy has been called, and the company is sending out technicians in an attempt to fix the blown transformer. The Raleigh Fire Department is on stand-by to handle emergencies, such as search and rescue.
