Headlines that MatterHickson to stay in NBA DraftFreshman J.J. Hickson signed with sports agent Andy Miller of ASM Sports on Tuesday, ending his NCAA eligibility after just one year with the Wolfpack. Hickson, who was N.C. State’s leader in scoring, rebounding and blocks in the 2007-2008 has done individual workouts for Seattle, Portland, Denver, Sacramento, Phoenix, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Toronto in recent weeks. The NBA Draft will be held June 26 in Madison Square Gardens.
Women’s golfers advance at Pub Links ChampionshipN.C. State golfers Lauren Doughtie and Emily Street advanced to the second round of match play at the Pub Links Championship on Wednesday. Doughtie defeated Erica Moston of Belmont, Calif. and Street beat Pennapa Pulsawath of Thailand. Doughtie will face UNC Greensboro’s Erica Creed on Thursday while Street will take on Tzu Chi Lin of Chinese Taipei.Source: N.C. State Athletics
