The purpose of animals I was offended by Praveen Sriram’s forum entry about not eating animals.I love eating animals. And it sounds as though that Praveen is trying toconvert me into a vegetarian, and I will not stand for it. I eat animalsbecause they are 1) stupid and 2) oh so delicious. Praveen claims that”animals deserve to be treated with dignity,” why? Why is it “not morallyappropriate” to eat animals? What other purpose could a cow, pig orchicken possibly serve? The only one I can think of is to eat, andmake me say mmmm while doing so. And that is beneficial enough for me.

Roadkill rats I read Todd’s story about the mouse with deep interest and was laughing alot through it until the very end. I hope he didn’t actually run over themouse with his car. That is a lot crueler than throwing it against abrick wall, which was very cruel by itself (I don’t know what pleasurethat girl got out of doing that). The best way to let the mouse die is tolet it off in the woods and have it die a natural death due to factorssuch as paralysis or starvation. Mice don’t live very long anyway. Butto run a mouse over to let it die must have been extremely painful to themouse and is a pretty sadistic thing to do. I hope Todd was just kiddingwhen he said he did that because I didn’t think that was very funny.But I think Todd should have just let the mouse outside if he found it inhis room rather than hurl it out the window. I am not sure how or why amouse got in his bedroom in the first place!

Damage to their cause The person(s) responsible for vandalizing the ROTC sign on campus areextremely immature and are basically crybabies when things don’t go theirway. I also don’t agree with the Iraq war, but I wouldn’t do anythingoutside the boundaries of the law to show my cause. They just have donedamage to their cause through the childish acts. I hope the campus policefind those who are responsible and fine them a full $100 for the prank andmake them do community service by cleaning up all of the graffiti in thecity of Raleigh. That will make them think twice the next time they thinkof damaging property.
