Committee on International Programs to host third annual passport fair
The N.C. State Committee on International Programs will host its third annual passport fair Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 2-5 p.m. in the Caldwell Lounge.
“We wanted to make it as easy as possible for students and faculty to apply for or renew a passport,” Robert Kochersberger, vice-chair of the university committee on International Programs, said. “We also want to encourage more international travel here at N.C. State.”
Three State Department officials from the passport center in Charleston will be processing the paperwork on site to ensure a quick and easy application process.
Anyone interested in obtaining a passport needs to bring proof of citizenship and a check or money order. Accepted forms of identification include a current or expired passport or a certified birth certificate.
The total cost of the passport application and processing is $97. Applicants should receive their passports in four to six weeks after application. If they wish to have their passport rush delivered, the expedition fee is $60.
“We had 95 people take advantage of the passport fair last year,” Kochersberger said. “Hopefully even more people will show up this year.”
