Clarification

In Friday’s page-one article “WKNC plans birthday celebration,” Staff Writer John Hoover reported that WKNC first aired in 1966. The radio station actually first broadcast in 1922, but changed to its current call letters — WKNC — in 1966.

Correction

In the same article, Hoover mistakenly reported that the station broadcasts 15 minutes to an hour in every direction. It actually broadcasts 50 minutes to an hour in every direction.
