Smoke alarms are monitored by a central station.
If the alarm is activated by either smoke or tampering, the alarm sends a trouble signal to the station.
If it is a fire, once the heat reaches 155 degrees the glass in the sprinklers will break and pressurized water will drench the area. Sprinklers are independent, and one breaking will not cause a chain reaction.
