Problems with “New” College of Management
To whom it may concern:
As a senior graduating in May, I can say that for the past four years I have been completely content with the College of Management relative to how I feel now. The college has been undergoing alterations and is adjusting to the new system of professional undergraduate advisers with which I have no problem with and have accepted because it will be beneficial to the future students of the College of Management.
What I do find rather illogical is the fact that there was only one section of International Financial Management being offered in the face of the increasing number of global firms, the substantial amount of U.S. dollar reserves that financially emerging countries such as China are holding, as well as the effect that the Foreign Exchange Market and baskets of currencies are having on financial decision makers in the United States.
There are only so many economic courses one can take to try to understand these concepts from a financial perspective, and unfortunately I will now graduate without having the most comprehensive understanding possible of the foreign exchange markets and their implications for direct and portfolio investment abroad.
I just wanted to give my two cents on this topic and hope that my input may help impact decision making in the future with regard to course selections.

Disagreement with RENT review
In response to [Nov. 8] article about the production, which is currently running downtown, we would like to make a few corrections to several outlandish accusations that were made about the MUSICAL. First and foremost, it must be stressed that RENT is, in fact, a musical, not a play. The music that Jonathan Larson, the creative genius behind RENT, spent his last years composing is the driving force behind the powerful message RENT has to offer.
RENT deals with real issues that are prevalent in today’s society, such as building friendships, overcoming struggles and trying to establish a meaningful life. Everyone can relate in some way to one character or another. Every last word of every song performed during the MUSICAL is significant, and to back up RENT’s gleaming talent, are its numerous TONY and other honorable awards, not to mention the fact that it happens to be one of the longest running MUSICALS on Broadway in New York City, which is ironically enough the setting for the story.
For those of you who have not yet experienced this masterpiece, we strongly advise you to take the time to see the wonders RENT has to offer, and come to your own conclusion. We have seen this production several times, and although the movie version is wonderful, there simply are no words for the MUSICAL, performed live, just as it was written. No doubt the music will be stuck in your head shortly after seeing the performance, but the themes and lessons learned, well, they will stay in your heart forever.
