Headlines that matterHauschka named Specialist of the WeekGraduate student kicker Stephen Hauschka was named ACC Specialist of the Week for his efforts in N.C. State’s 19-16 overtime win against Miami this past Saturday. Hauschka connected on four of five field goal attempts, including the game-winning field goal from 42 yards out. Hauschka’s other field goals were from 31, 35 and 47 yards, respectively.

Former golfer earns spot on PGA tourFormer N.C. State golfer Marc Turnesa earned a spot on the 2008 PGA Tour Sunday after his play in the Nationwide Tour Championship.Turnesa was one of 25 golfers on the Nationwide Tour who earned a spot, No. 16 on the final money list, earning $237,890.The highlight of Turnesa’s Nationwide tour was winning the Miccosukee Championship, the last full-field event of the season, which moved him form 43rd to 13th on the money list.
