The volleyball team dropped its 10th consecutive match of the season, falling 3-1 to Boston College Thursday night in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
N.C. State hoped to end its 38-match ACC losing streak at the site of its last ACC win, but the Eagles had other ideas. The last time the Wolfpack visited BC was October 2005, and State came away with a 3-1 win.
This year, Boston College came out fast, winning the first game 30-19. The Pack aimed to keep the match close, taking the second game 32-30. The Eagles put State away in the end, however, winning the final two games 30-24 and 30-21, respectively.
Sophomore outside hitter Chrissy Zirpolo led the team in kills with 17. Freshman libero Nikki Sweet led the team in digs with 21, and freshman setter Alex Smith led the team with 41 assists.
State drops to 3-11 (0-4 ACC) on the season. BC improved to 8-6 (2-2).
The Pack will travel to College Park, Md., tomorrow for a match with Maryland. The match is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
