Supply Store officials accept book pile upsby Cash RobertsNews EditorStudents Supply Store officials are assuming a “grin and bear it” attitude toward the large quantities of discontinued texts filling up the basement of the main store after the start of semester buying sprees.When asked how many books were discontinued, Assistant Book Department Manager Tom Setzer first estimated 15 percent, but a close check Saturday showed that within a year, 25 percent of the books at the Supply Store were discontinued as officially adopted texts.C.L. Chambers, Book Department Manager, said “large numbers of books at $3.50 or less are continually being dropped and new ones are adopted for the next semester. Therefore, we can’t predict the wholesaler’s prices.”
