“The Facebook Phenomenon” discusses social networking sites

“The Facebook Phenomenon” will be held in the Talley Student Center from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30. A panel of experts will discuss the impact of Internet social networking sites, such as Facebook and Myspace, on students and the university in general.

According to the Division of Student Affairs Web site, “The Facebook Phenomenon” will cover the issues of privacy, security and decision making that is associated with social networking sites as well as the positive impact of these sites.

The program in free and open to the public. Participants can either attend the event in person or via a Webcast. Anyone who is interested in attending is asked to register at the Division of Student Affairs website.
