Behind the Veil panel discusses headscarf, Muslim women
A panel of Muslim women will discuss the reasons they choose to, or not to, wear a traditional religious head scarf, or hijab, tonight at 6 p.m. in the Walnut Room of Talley Student Center as part of the Behind the Veil project organized by the Women’s Center.
“Behind the Veil is about opening people’s minds and improving the understanding of Muslim women,” Sara Yasin, a junior in textiles and apparel management, said. “It allows people to have a better sense of empathy about the culture and is a unique way to increase awareness.”
