Name: Gianluca Lazzi

Research interests: Analog, RF and mixed mode, bioelectronics engineering, communications and signal processing

How he got involved in the Artificial Retina project: Lazzi is an expert in bioelectromagnetics. A few years ago, a faculty member at N.C. State asked Lazzi to help him understand how the electrical field interacts with the human body, which is how they started collaborating on the project. That faculty member is now at USC Santa Cruz and working on the team with Lazzi.
