The seventh-seeded NC State Wolfpack defeated the No. 3 seed Boston College Eagles, 1-0, tonight at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary. Ronnie Bouemboue scored off a header from a corner by fellow senior Alan Sanchez. Thanks to staunch defense and senior goalkeeper Christopher Widmann’s ninth shutout of the season, his second consecutive game without a goal, State will make its first ACC championship game appearance since 1990.
The Pack will face University of Virginia, which defeated No. 1 seed Wake Forest in penalty kicks. UVA is a five seed, and the game is slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
