The University told Vice Chancellor for Legal Services MaryBeth Kurz to resign or be terminated two weeks ago, sources told Technician Friday night.
Senior Associate General Counsel David Drooz is acting vice chancellor. Kurz’s resignation will go into effect Sept. 1, though her office is already vacant.
Kurz’s forced resignation was due to her involvement with the controversy surrounding the hiring and promotion of former first lady Mary Easley.
Director of News and Communications Keith Nichols could not be reached for comment late Friday night.
