Men’s basketball adds two assistant coaches
NC State men’s basketball head coach Kevin Keatts has added two assistant coaches to his staff this week: James Johnson on Monday and Takayo Siddle on Tuesday. Johnson was one of Keatts’ teammates at Ferrum College from 1991 to 1993, helping the team make it to the Division III NCAA Tournament after winning the Dixie Conference Championship. Johnson has worked as an assistant at eight different schools, most notably Virginia Tech for five seasons; he was then the Hokies’ head coach for two seasons. Keatts also has experience working with Siddle, who was an assistant coach for Keatts at UNCW for each of his three seasons with the Seahawks. Additionally, Siddle played for Keatts at Hargrave Military Academy for one season. Johnson got a one-year deal for $400,000 while Siddle got a one-year deal for $300,000. The Wolfpack has one more assistant coaching slot available on its staff.

Kay Yow Spring Game takes place Saturday
The NC State football team will host its annual Kay Yow Spring Game Saturday, April 1 at Carter Finley Stadium. Admission for all fans is free, but fans are encouraged to donate at least $1 to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and the Kay Yow Scholarship endowment. New this year, fans can get a ticket online and be entered to win prizes when scanning it at the gate, including four tickets to the team’s home opener, four tickets to certain ACC games, two tickets in the Dail Club for a certain game, sideline passes, State football gear or an autographed football. Parking gates A, B and C off Trinity Road will open at 8 a.m. and stadium gates 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9 will open at 10:30 a.m.

Men’s golf ties for third at 2017 Hootie at Bulls Bay
The NC State men’s golf team finished in a tie for third place at the 2017 Hootie at Bulls Bay in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The Pack shot 854 (-10) on the weekend alongside the likes of No. 23 Auburn and placed ahead of No. 9 Virginia (E) and No. 24 Missouri (-2). The Wolfpack led all teams in total birdies (61) and average score on par fives (4.60, -30). Sophomore Stephen Franken was phenomenal for NC State, finishing in fourth place overall in the tournament. The fourth-place rank is Franken’s sixth such result in his young career. The Raleigh native shot a 72 (E), 69 (-3) and 67 (-5) on each respective day.
