The NC State Police Department sent out a WolfAlert Friday afternoon alerting students to an armed robbery that occurred at the Fort Fisher Hall parking lot of the Avent Ferry Complex. According to the alert, two black male suspects will the perpetrators of incident.
The robbery occurred at approximately 4:05 p.m. and was reported to Raleigh Police Department by a non-affiliated cab driver. The two suspects involved displayed a knife but there were no injuries involved.
On Wednesday, authorities arrested Tyrin Daquan Stubbs, who is not affiliated with the university, and has been placed in the Wake County Detention Center
Stubbs was charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of assault with a deadly weapon.
A second suspect, described as a black male wearing a black T-shirt and black pants, is still at-large.
The campus community is always encouraged to take the following steps to keep themselves safe:
– Assailants target residences where doors and windows are left unlocked or unsecured. Always lock residence doors and windows when at home and when you leave.
– Assailants may try to gain access into a residence by using force or deception. Don’t open your door for or let someone in your residence that you don’t know.
– If you feel unsafe in any situation, trust your instinct and contact University Police immediately to report suspicious activities or crimes on campus by calling 911 or 919-515-3000.
