Pack men’s basketball adds Batts
Four-star guard Lavar Batts Jr. announced Saturday that he is decommitting from VCU to join the NC State men’s basketball team for the 2017–18 season on a verbal commitment. Batts currently ranks 96th in the class of 2017 and first in the state by 247Sports. His decision comes after former VCU coach Will Wade left the team to be the head coach at LSU. Batts tallied 23.7 points and 4.4 assists per game at Concord Robinson High School and new head coach Kevin Keatts’ first recruit with the Wolfpack.

State women’s tennis dominates Pitt
The No. 26 NC State women’s tennis team eased past Pittsburgh Sunday, 6-1, at J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. The Wolfpack’s sixth-straight victory improves the team to 16-7 (5-5 ACC) on the year while knocking the Panthers down to 3-10 (0-9 ACC). Pitt’s only point on the day occurred when NC State forfeited a singles match. The Wolfpack won all doubles and singles matches in straight sets to garner the six points and cruise to victory.

Wolfpack gymnastics finishes year at NCAA Regionals
Junior Chelsea Knight highlighted the NC State gymnastics team’s performance with a ninth-place finish in all-around competition as the team completed its season at the NCAA Gainesville Regional Championship Saturday. Notable opponents included No. 3 Florida, No. 10 Georgia and No. 15 Missouri with 18 athletes competing in all-around and 42 in the total field. Knight added placements of 11th in vault, 16th in beam and 19th on bars. Sophomore Paris Philips placed 23rd in vault, while senior Amanda Fillard and freshman Melissa Brooker competed in bars, placing 12th and 39th, respectively.
