NC State men’s basketball rising junior Maverick Rowan will leave the program, the university confirmed Friday. Rowan informed head coach Kevin Keatts of his decision, according to Jeff Gravley of WRAL on Twitter.
Rowan played in 25 games with the Pack last year, missing time early in the season with a concussion. He started 17 games under former head coach Mark Gottfried. The Florida native averaged 29.9 minutes played, 12 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. Known for his 3-point shooting prowess, Rowan finished the season shooting 36.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Rowan joined the Pack at the start of the 2015-16 season as a four-star recruit. The move leaves the Pack with a likely forward rotation of senior Abdul-Malik Abu, sophomore Ted Kapita, redshirt senior Lennard Freeman and sophomore Darius Hicks for next season.
