William Ditto resigned as dean of the College of Sciences on Friday.
William Ditto, dean of the College of Sciences, stepped down from his position on Friday, according to an email from Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Warwick Arden. He will be replaced by Chris McGahan, head of the Department of Molecular Biomedical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine, effective on Nov. 6.
Ditto joined NC State in 2015, after serving for four years as dean of the College of Natural Sciences at the University of Hawaii in Manoa.
According to Arden, the search for a permanent new dean will last approximately two to three years.
Ditto will remain on as a faculty member in the Department of Physics.
