Student Body President Jackie Gonzalez, a fourth-year studying political science, released a statement Wednesday morning pertaining to Sunday’s shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas.
“I wish those injured a swift physical recovery, but know the path to healing might be long and arduous for us all,” Gonzalez said in the statement. “During situations like this, it is important for us to stand strong as a community. Reach out to peers who may be personally affected by this atrocity and ensure that everyone feels safe and secure on our campus. Use your peers and your resources on campus to keep your mental health in check.”
An NC State alumna, Jenna DeCandio was injured during the shooting, which left 59 dead and over 500 wounded, the deadliest in modern U.S. history.
