The NC State football team made its season debut in both the Associated Press and USA Today top-25 polls this week, following a 33-25 victory over Syracuse Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium.
The Wolfpack (4-1, 2-0 ACC) checks in at No. 24 in both polls, the first time the team has been ranked in either poll since the final week of the 2010 season, according to NC State Athletics. It marks the first time under fifth-year head coach Dave Doeren that the Pack has been ranked, and is the first 2-0 start in the ACC since 2007.
NC State will host No. 17 Louisville Thursday night at Carter-Finley, marking the first time since 2000 that the Pack has hosted a ranked matchup. If the Wolfpack can pull off a win over the Cardinals Thursday, it will be the first win in a ranked matchup for State since 1992.
