NC State men’s basketball coach Kevin Keatts continued what has been a busy offseason on the recruiting trail Friday, landing four-star power forward Immanuel Bates for 2018, according to Cory Smith of packpride.com.
247 Sports has Bates as the no. 98 player in the country and no. seven in North Carolina. He will play this coming season at Northwood Temple Academy in Fayetteville, NC.
Bates, a Fayetteville native, is 6-foot-9, 195 lbs., giving Keatts his first big-man recruit, an important get for next year’s team with forwards Abdul-Malik Abu and Lennard Freeman set to wrap up their eligibility as seniors this year. Bates joins sophomore Darius Hicks in the 2018 forward rotation.
